Luyanda will take up further studies with the Sommeliers Academy and South African Sommeliers Association (SASA). 

The Lancewood Ultimate Pastry Chef of the Year Nonzuzo Mhlungu (Southern Sun The Edward) is invited to experience three-weeks in France, the home of fine patisserie at the exquisite La Creuzette in Boussac. A ravishing prize where the winner will continue to broaden their culinary skills and at the same time absorb incomparable French flair. Flights are courtesy of Lancewood plus a generous R10 000 cash prize.

The KitchenAid Africa Best Team The Silo receives the coveted KitchenAid Africa Floating Trophy presented by Dr Susanne Reuther.

Tambo Airport) looks forward to taking up his R30,000 bursary from the National Youth Development Agency and Danie Kortjas (Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani) to study online with the International Hotel School. Axolile Pupuma (The President Hotel), winner of the Best ClemenGold Gin Cocktail will create his own handcrafted signature gin brand at Hope Distillery. He will receive two cases of this special gin—one for personal use and another for their hotel.

This year the CTIA – Chefs Training & Innovation Academy announced that they will be sponsoring a bursary for the winning Hot Chef Kholiswa Makelen (The Silo) to join an ARPL Chef Programme – The QCTO NQF Level 5 Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning Programme.

The Rio Largo Most Promising Chef Samuel Sherman (Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town) was awarded a cash prize by Brenda and Nick Wilkinson of multi-award winning Rio Largo Olive Estate, one of South Africa’s finest. 

The KitchenAid Africa Bio-Wheat Baker of the Year Chelsea Smith (Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town) receives a KitchenAid Food Processor while Mount Nelson collects a KitchenAid Commercial Mixer.

The Inter-Hotel Challenge Barista of the Year Farai Dube (Century City Conference Centre Hotel, and runner-up Simphiwe Mtshali (54 on Bath) and third place Ivan Lange (Southern Sun The Cullinan) will be rewarded with a generous cash prize by Avanti Coffee Company and enviable coffee accessories from KitchenAid Africa and AL&CD Ashley.

The GM of the Year Wayne Siepman (Southern Sun Cape Sun) receives an exquisite hand-crafted cufflinks by The Diamond Works.

The Mentor of the Year Veronica Canha Hibbert (The Silo) has won a splendid weekend away at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel part of the flourishing and expanding NEWMARK GROUP in Cape Town – A rewarding prize for a valuable key player for the success of the team.
