The 2025 winners of the Cape Grace Reaching for Young Stars are already making their mark and flying the South African flag! Mia Wicomb of CTIA – Chefs Training & Innovation Academy is currently putting her skills into practice during an extraordinary three-month internship at YONA, one of the top spa hotels in Alsace with INTERNAFRIKA. Director Alexandre Barrière Izard shared his excitement: “This remarkable opportunity allows Mia to gain hands-on experience at YONA, immersing herself in relaxation and hospitality, alongside the chef at the celebrated Head Chef Cyril Bonnard, whose seasonal cuisine celebrates the best of Alsatian flavours, and benefits from the creative touch of pastry Chef Marie Wucher. The internship is designed to encourage our future chefs to hone their skills, build on their talent and broaden horizons, giving full exposure to the rich culture of French hospitality.”
