MEET THE CONCIERGES

In a top hotel the role that a good concierge plays is both indispensable and crucial. Concierges are the first port of call particularly for visitors from abroad for whom they represent the face of the hotel. They often have exclusive worldwide networks with contacts that can span continents. They are expected to deliver a valuable service both efficiently and seamlessly. Hear from our Concierges, how they envisage themselves, their careers in the next five years, who are their role models and what books they are reading for inspiration.

I would describe myself as an open and honest person who doesn’t believe in misleading other people and tries to be fair in everything I do.
At the moment I am reading The Amazing Son in Law. The main character, Charlie Wade, is my role model because he is positive and doesn’t allow negativity. I believe negative behaviour has a habit of spreading to those around you.

Describe yourself in one sentence?
Just an individual whom is honest, kind and straightforward and wants to do his best and is willing to learn.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Gather more knowledge within the hospitality space and be more wise as I’m still young to be fair.

Who is your role model and why?
Multiple people, Ozzy Nel, my father and mother. They were ones that have been guiding me throughout my life and learn to be better person, and learn more about the world and society.

I’m reading12 Rules for Life: An Antidote To Chaos by Jordan Peterson. It’s not necessarily about the rules in the book. It really teaches you the essence of taking responsibility of your life and to get out of your comfort zone.
